Allies of Convenience – A Theory of Bargaining in U.S. Foreign Policy is the title of the book written by Evan N. Resnick and it was published on August 2019 by Columbia University Press. This book addresses the question of, “How well has the United States managed unsavoury alliances that poses high security threats, and what have been their consequences for its national security?” using the theoretical basis of a neoclassical realist theory and exemplified further through the three cases of U.S. Cold War era alliances: with China, Pakistan, and Iraq respectively.
