Dr. Yoshihisa Nishiyama is an associate professor at the Institute for International Strategy of Tokyo International University. He is also currently an external lecturer at Hosei University. Dr. Nishiyama’s primary research & teaching area includes Russian Politics and International Relations of Central Asia. His recent published work is entitled “Memory Politics in Contemporary Russia: Vladimir Putin’s Strategy of Reinforcing the Myth of the Great Patriotic War”, published by Keio University Press in 2025. In addition, he has hold other positions such as project assistant professor in the University of Tokyo and Hokkaido University, and was an analyst for Mitsui & Co. Global Strategic Studies Institute.
