Maxim Tvorun-Dunn is an Assistant Professor of Cultural Studies at Tokyo International University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies at The University of Tokyo in 2025. His research examines the visual cultures of technology and ecology, and the intersection between media, material culture and political economy. At TIU, he teaches courses on popular culture and visual media, such as Japanese Popular Culture, Media and Society in Japan, and Comparative Culture.
