How does the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC) function? The MNHRC was established by the government on September 5, 2011, as part of the political, economic, and social reforms in the former Thein Sein government. The speaker will elaborate on the roles of the MNHRC in the Myanmar context focusing on activities regarding international obligations, promotion, education, and protection. He will also address how international organizations and non-state actors participate in human rights promotion activities for Myanmar.
