Sojin Shin is an Assistant Professor at the School of International Relations (E-track) at Tokyo International University (TIU) in Japan. She is a political scientist and author of The State, Society, and Foreign Capital in India (Cambridge University Press, 2018). Her teaching and research interests include development, international political economy, and South Asian studies. At TIU, she has been providing various undergraduate and graduate courses like Political Economy of Development, Introduction to International Relations, International Relations of South Asia, Asia’s Entrepreneurs, and Critical Approaches to Development Politics. She obtained a PhD degree in 2015 from South Asian Studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Prior to joining TIU, she worked at the Institute of South Asian Studies at NUS.
